Yesterday it was announced on none other than the Pan showed hosed by the president of Pan Trinbago, Keith Dias, that two prominent pan arrangers were pulled over by the Trinidad police, and ticketed for “playing a noisy instrument.” According to the caller into the radio show, the arrangers were playing and listening to a pan music CD in their car.
Has anyone else heard this?

Is this a steelband thing? A 'dub' thing? A Jamaican thing? Whether it is a steelband or piano, classic or calypso, hip-hop or jazz, the fact is that the music was too loud. Ticket was in order.
If the men were blasting DUB they would not of gotten a ticket. Dub is the choice of music now all over trinidad. Our own Pan and calypso is now seasonal. And when it is that time of the year DUB is still the choice. Only the people who come down to carnival keeps the home grown culture alive in a small way.
So Road Runner what you are saying in ah nut-shell is it's ah waste of time to start sending back J'cans because their music has already taken over. Trini gone RASS.
I am kept so busy here I am actually glad when I don't have to play somewhere .
He doesn't know me so what is he trying to say , he does a lot of gigs and others don't. He has to learn to respect people and don't put people down all the time. That is the main thing ,Liam Teague is one of the best panists around today, the first time he spoke to me he called me Mr. Dayal . That is what you call respect. Blessings.
Winston (Gons): Don't let the heat of the discussions on the form dilute the humility that you have displayed on this forum for so long. I am sure that you know what I mean.
Did not hear this story before! But recognizable as drivers who play music often do so indiscriminately, as we who live in T&T. know. Then there is the unexplainable accident, which is not uncommon and you ask-- was there a distraction while driving?
Blessings for a healthy new year.
