Folks are being dishonest here. No one who is actively connected to a band should be allowed to be in contention to lead any Pan association. There is an inherent conflict of interest with leadership being associated with a band.
There is only one or two people who are currently qualified to lead Pan in Trinidad and Tobago.

Colin Lucas came and said that the PANORAMA PRODUCTION was EXCELLENT and he was very proud of the work that PAN TRINBAGO did. So from what they expect in Trinidad -- PANORAMA was a GRAND SUCCESS especially with the CHANGES Duvone made to the music and all the acclaim he got for doing that. (As a CALYPSO LOVER -- I want to hear a STEELBAND play CALYPSO on PANORAMA NIGHT. So I thought that he took THE CALYPSO in a VERY BAD DIRECTION and I hope that others don't follow. But that is just me.)
Now, in terms of THE MONEY -- THE EXECUTIVES misappropriated the BULK OF IT and it is true that there is NOTHING LEFT for THE BANDS. Why do you think that KEITH DIAZ (ROLLY POLLY) is stepping down? You think it is THE CIP that made him step down? Not a chance!!!
So it is not a PANORAMA PRODUCTION PROBLEM -- it is a CORRUPTION PROBLEM. And if ROLLY POLLY (you have me disrespecting THE RIGHT HONOURABLE KEITH DIAZ calling him ROLLY POLLY) steps down and the REGIONAL OFFICERS take control or THE CURRENT EXECUTIVE DREGS hold on to power -- they have a BUILT IN EXCUSE for all DISAPPEARED MONEY. (Obama blame Bush and Trump blame Obama -- that is POLITICS!!!)
We on the FORUM are looking at the whole PAN TRINBAGO THING wrong. We are looking at it through the eyes of DEM WHITE BOYS who are running the NSSBE. They are looking at WHAT'S BEST FOR PAN IN AMERICA and we are looking at PAN TRINBAGO as WHAT'S BEST FOR PAN IN TRINIDAD.
But the REALITY of PAN TRINBAGO is about how you can GET IN POWER and FILL YOUR POCKETS with GOVERNMENT MONEY and EXPLOIT PAN MEN in the PROCESS.
That is why we need A MINISTER OF CULTURE who could take a stand against the CORRUPTION and the OLD CORRUPT CULTURE and CHANGE THE CHANGE. But don't expect ANY INTERVENTION.
And don't call me CECIL!!! Because CECIL backing BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE and I done GIVE UP with this whole PAN TRINBAGO NONSENSE.

If Aquil Arrindell could get over the TABANCA after THIS LOSS -- then he and I could focus on MAKING some REAL MUSIC in THE NEAR FUTURE.
bugs: It is an intrinsically conflicted discussion. These STEELBAND LEADERS dedicated their LIVES to keeping STEELBAND ALIVE in TRINIDAD and subsequently set up their OWN ASSOCIATION under their own rules and regulations. But THE TING they started got so big LOCAL AND GLOBAL that they are no longer able to MANAGE IT in a way that's most beneficial to the players and the organization and the COUNTRY.
So, YES!!! It needs to be BLOWN UP and started all over again, from OUR PERSPECTIVE. And as a response to the GLOBAL GROWTH of the INSTRUMENT. But what about the HARD CORE PAN MEN who dedicated their lives to shaping the movement into what it is TODAY. Do we just throw them on the PAVEMENT and bring in PROFESSIONALS?
This is a VERY TOUGH issue to reconcile. If I had a say in the matter from a governmental point of view -- I would form another INDEPENDENT AGENCY dedicated to the GLOBAL MARKETING of PAN (and PAN MUSIC) and leave THE PAN TRINBAGO PEOPLE to do what they do: PRODUCE PANORAMA!!!
Cecil if we are going to be honest - Pan Trinbago can't even manage Panorama. Word is the bands may not get paid for Panorma 2018. And the ICP band will never get their prize monies. Everything Pan Trinbago touched has eventually died.
