Trinidad born Latin  bandleader Edmundo Ross has passed away . He lived to be 100 years old.

He popularized the  Latin American music sound in Britain in the forties and fifties, and I remember regularly hearing his music on the radio in Trinidad in my early years.

Though born in Trinidad, his family lived for a number of years in Venezuela, and his musical influences were obviously from Latin America.

Latin music was very popular in Trinidad in that era however, and he should be considered another Trinidad musical icon.

Rest in Peace, Edmundo Ross.

  • Being a Trinidadian, I have heard so many stories of Edmundo Ross. As some of his records said that he was born in Cuba, some said he was born in Arima but it is a great thing to recognized a great man. In my era listening to him among the musicians as Perez Prado, Roberto Inglis, Stanley black, Tito Puente made feel proud of the man
  • Thank you Glenroy for the info. I will always remember his music.
