Small & Medium Bands Finals – Panorama - the First Part

 

Trinidad and Tobago’s annual National Steelband Panorama Finals which returns to the “Big Yard” for 2009, will be staged in two parts.

 

The first will see the Small and Medium Conventional Bands in a National Panorama Finals of its own.  After several weeks of preliminary judging at the various panyards and a national semi-final round, the final eight in each category are ready to do battle.  Sixteen (16) steel orchestras are listed to compete in the two categories on Wednesday 18th February 2009 at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, from 7:00 pm.

 

Performing at position one is Laventille Serenaders and CLICO Sforzata in the Small and Medium Bands categories respectively.  In the latter category, 2007 and 2008 champions Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille is seeking a hat trick with the Ken Philmore/Mark Loquan/Destra Garcia composition “D Trini Way” arranged by Ken “Professor” Philmore.

 

The second part of the finals - the Large Conventional Band category comes - off at the Big Yard on Saturday February 21st 2009.
