Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Those who attended the launch of the Digital Pan App on Thursday at Queen’s Hall in St. Ann’s, felt Trinidad and Tobago culture is finally stepping into the digital age.
The Digital Pan Mobile App is the only steelpan app that is officially and exclusively endorsed by the world governing body for the steelpan, Pan Trinbago. It allows users to virtually play the steelpan on their mobile device and also to select from an array of options enhancing their musical experience.
Kristopher Maillard, Manager Mobile Apps, Digital Business said that this app, powered by Digital Business of Curepe is designed for both the iPhone and iPad and can be obtained for just $1.99.

TT culture have steped into digital age with Digital Pan App AGES AGO...... "#1 steelpan app" have been on itunes for some time now it have even been updated and the 2nd update is on the way. It is by far the best app for steelpan out there. The first and only app to include the full range of all steelpans and to have different steelpan instrument layouts ALL IN ONE APP using standardized steelpan layouts set forth by Trinidad and Tobago and Pantrinbago, the governing body of steelpan. This steelpan app is a one of a kind application for your ipad/iphone. The user will be able to play an entire range of a steelband/steel orchestra in this one application. The user can also do this in different styles in the form of a Tenor, a Double Seconds or a Six Bass. The sounds that you hear coming out of this application are real steelpan sounds/tones. They are not samples or computer generated.check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP_B0lIfgKE&feature=channel_vide...

well yes....WHY NOT? ....Congrats to Digital Business of Curepe for taking the lead............!!!!
Why would Ms Carr-Sealy want the notes of the pan to be placed 'in keyboard fashion' as stated in the article? If I am reading correctly she would like the notes to be in the normal linear chromatic scale position of the standard keyboard but that would be counter productive to the intention of the app which is to facilitate the learning of the instrument which has the notes placed in the circle of fifths or fourths positions.
well, i baught it, and i'm shocked!!!
the 5 high notes sound like somebody knockin' on my garage door but not on a pan!
well, that idea is not pretty new:
thanx for watching those:
