so far what I've seen on Facebook has been real crap. The sound recording especially is atrocious.
But what do you expect. Mainstream TV channels will only mention Notting Hill carnival if there are riots violence etc.
It fits their stereotypical idea of anything which involves Black people. Although most politicians here are very quick to claim how diverse British society is. Personally I will stay well clear of NHC as it is far removed from the 60s and 70s.
I'm a traditionalist. Which is why I've stopped visiting home for carnival as it bears little resemblance to that which I've grown accustomed to back in the 50s and 60s.
