In TRINIDAD POLITICS they like to say: "IS WE TIME NOW!!!"
In California THE LATINOS (MEXICANS, REALLY) are putting it in more formal language: “Our voice remains missing from the highest levels of our government, even though we are 40% of the state's residents. It is up to states like California to do their part to ensure that we are building more diverse and inclusive institutions reflective of our society.”
Meanwhile, THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN POLITICAL MACHINERY is pressing as hard as they could to get another AFRICAN-AMERICAN to replace KAMALA HARRIS as JUNIOR SENATOR FROM CALIFORNIA. It is important to note here that the AFRICAN-AMERICAN population in CALIFORNIA is a fast-declining 6%.
Ever the cynic, I see this racial battle as the fracturing of the mythical DEMOCRATIC BIG TENT with a steady decline in AFRICAN-AMERICAN POLITICAL POWER across THE NATION -- despite the GLITTER THAT WE SEE AT THE TOP (OBAMA/HARRIS).
ES NUESTRO MOMENTO AHORA!!!
