  • Every band "sound" very good on final night... how does one truly say/pick which band sound the best (meeting all criteria) without being biased?

    • Eye4Pan, the criteria is the problem.

      • Cecil…like you agree that All Stars should not have won too boy…lol

        • merrytones, they tell meh the other band dance better than meh that's why ah loss, so ah looking to get rid ah de dancing. lol

          • no man….hire a dance instructor from foreign….somebody on Broadway…lol

            • merrytones, if we do dat we only makin de money smaller for players, that's why ah want dem to hire 8 blind men to judge.

              • lol…that might help….but know for sure that we will still come back here cussin one another come Carnival Sunday and onwards

                • merrytones, that's being Trini. lol

  • It should be noted that every argument made about the judging is based on how the bands SOUNDED.

  • I think honestly, panorama is a very difficult phenomenon to judge.... esp. without incredibly descriptive criteria. I think it is obvious that panorama is not about music alone. The very definition of panorama outside of a steel band competition suggests "an unbroken view of the whole region surrounding the observer"... apply this to our steel band competition and overstand that there are other elements to a steelbands' contribution other than music although I do believe that music should reserve the highest percentage of the judgement. After all the criteria, the judgement will always have an element of bias for the judges are only human but its the honesty that we look for in the bias that most times escapes adjudication.
