They YOUNG and they TRY REAL HARD and the ARRANGER did not PUT TOO MUCH STUPIDNESS in the ARRANGEMENT like in the LARGE BAND CATEGORY.
As a CALYPSO LOVER, if I am listening to a PANSIDE PLAY A CALYPSO (especially a CALYPSO that I have listened to ONE THOUSAND TIMES) -- I want to FOLLOW THE CALYPSO just as if I am listening to the ORIGINAL CALYPSO. Now, I am with RANDI JACKSON on MAKING IT YOUR OWN -- but you still have to RENDER THE ORIGINAL CALYPSO.
And though THIS GROUP was not VERY POLISHED (it look like they turned away ALL THE CRACKSHOTS) they had a fair amount of authenticity; and they deserve some SPECIAL consideration. So I think that they deserve a little break -- make them FEEL GOOD and move them to the NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION.
And THE ARRANGER did not OVER ARRANGE like in the LARGE BAND COMPETITION -- ah think that he have ah FUTURE in the ARRANGEMENT TING!!!
