But I want to clear up one thing. I have said A THOUSAND TIMES that this is PANORAMA FORUM. And when you look at the attendance as PANORAMA approaches and the actual number of people who come on the FORUM to discuss and look at the PANORAMA -- you have to admit to that.

So I don't see how ANYBODY could come on this forum and say that the EXPATS on this forum were trying to influence the LOCALS in Trinidad to boycott PANORAMA against their own LOCAL better judgement. I don't see how anybody could even conceive that THIS FORUM influences ANYTHING in TRINIDAD even at the cellular level.

Now I am sure that you would be hard pressed (if you went through all the postings) to FIND about THREE EXPATS on THIS FORUM who were pushing for a STRIKE this year ... and, in reality, I (Claude Gonzales) might be TWO out of THOSE THREE. The PANORAMA STRIKE TALK started in TRINIDAD. And 99.999% of the people on this FORUM went into a PANIC thinking that they might loss dey PRECIOUS PANORAMA. Dey was not in NO STRIKE TALK.

So don't blame EXPATS on THE FORUM for some collective effort to try to influence the mind of the LOCALS. That is FAKE  NEWS. I might very well be the only person on this forum who wanted a strike.

    • Probably the best pan suited calypso never played in a panorama.

And I' m of the opinion that there are any fine calypso gems in our musical history that were never played in panorama , and are well suited for pan.

Maybe steelband arrangers  should consider researching our musical libraries for forgotten music of the past.

I'd bet they'd find some of that music far more appealing to steelband fans that some of today's disposable so called "pan tunes."

  • Was this a Panorama song played by any steelband? music by the grand master, like only he could  make.
