I've found that politics has a tendency to distort one's view of things , and as much as I may try, I too may have my biases.
However , I've found it rewarding to not let my politics affect my appreciation for art , and for great artists .
For example , as much as I may disagree with their politics , I still enjoy the movies of John Wayne , Charleston Hesston , Clint Eastwood and even Jon Voigt.
Which brings me to calypsonian Cro Cro ( Weston Rawlins)
Solely based on his politics , some would love and some would hate him.
But no one should deny that he is one of the greatest and most lyrical calypsonians ever.

Take for example these two calypsos.
There are no two other calypsos that can relate the Trinidadian (or should I say Caribbean ) immigrant's experience as they do.
They both address issues of travel , but with different takes.

BTW , in the calypso "Suitcase" the names are so familiar , I feel like I know these people !
