Panorama 2015 is just five months away and there is no talk about an election for the executive of the World Governing Body so I guess here comes the pool and the Greens again.
For two years another member has been telling me " dey cyah move dem" [the present executive] I laugh and told him you'll see, I'm not laughing anymore, as a matter of fact I've grown to admire them, not for what they are doing for pan but for the way they are able to manipulate the legal system in the MECCA.
Not one person with the power is willing to stand up for the Steelband in T&T. The Minister of Culture could do it, he could say no more funds until we have an election but I guess he like it so.
The judges who deal with matters concerning the steelband they all know the state the steelband movement and could help but they seem to be enabling the executive to do what they do.
What we have here amounts to a Rouge organization running the affairs of the steelband, in 2014, and no one can do a thing about it.

Blame the "present" administration, because everything was A-OK under all previous admins?. Were there audits then? Now? Was there transparency then? Now? Was there accountability then? Now? Was there ever anything right with any admin of the steelband movement.? Years upon years, we, most of us get on the fora and bump our gums for the "pan". People come along and git rich and the pan stays poor.

Cecil: What makes 'em a rogue org? Where is the "World Governing Body"? Emphasis on "WORLD". What or Where is the ":Mecca"? Isn't the manipulation of the legal system, legal?. When you find someone to fix "governments" (ALL) in T&T, get them to fix PanTrinbago. In the business of T&T, everybody is wrong and right too.
Once your issues reaches the court it becomes a matter of who has the better legal representation [ OJ went with Johnnie] one can clearly see that PanTrinbago is having the better results, this is mainly because they don't have to have funding drives, the people of T&T are paying their legal bills. Talk about a sad story.

Jackie Sherriff, I might be missing the big picture so this is where those that know step-up and enlighten us, we have too many spectators on this topic. What's his name, have NO shame and he certainly don't give ah shit about the Trini name.
Please allow me to join this discussion it is not that people did not try to do something includeing my self being a member of the visionaries when we started to expose all their wrong doings the they got their clique together and illegally name us personal non gratis.In my view the people who supports them are not interested in the welfare of pan as long as they can eat a food it is ok with them.With this kind of thinking by members of steel bands the industry will go no way In my view they have done me a big favour I no longer want to be associated with the brand PANTRINBAGO which is not respected by any Co operative Organization because of the present leadership they cannot be trusted with proper accountability and no one wants to invest in this organization anymore and time and time again they keep saying they cannot get sponsorship and don't know why only them do not know why.I wonder if and when election is called would it make a difference as long as member continue with the way they THINK nothing will change I will continue to support all steel bands in whatever way I can as long as I can bye for now. Apart from some sponsored bands, does any steelband in T&T have "proper accountability"? When bands learn that the 'thing' is a business, and they learn the business of the business, then, maybe there may be a glimmer at the end of the tunnel.
Here's my optimistic view of the whole thing "we ain't gat no place to go".
emond berkeley, I respect the NV for their dedication but anyone could see you-all are being bullied by the present administration, they even put you all out, all this is done out of fear, these guys are fighting to stay on the gravy train and they see you all as the ones trying to push them off. so they are going all out.
At this point all that matters to them is panorama and the Greens, this where it is most profitable for them, so if they could tie up the NV in court for another season that's all they want.
In saying this. I must make a point about the WST no press pass.
I notice most pan players in NY never acknowledged the non presence of WST. WOW. It was just like "oh well just another glitch"
Players you are not being compensated for your hard work so stand up for something or fall for anything.
Got a call this morning from a pan friend asking why he did not see me this year in NY. Well, I refuse to patronize something I know is greatly benefiting others and leaving steelband people struggling to survive, especially in NY. As much as I love pan I refuse to allow myself to be a porn in the pan game anymore. Lessons learned.
To the Ghost. Keep doing what you doing. Some or most hate the truth. Especially the way you tell it, (like it is) but time will tell and lessons will be learned the hard way by the steel pan fraternity.
