I think that Cecil raises a great point: what (exactly) is your agenda? I assumed that I made mine clear in the publication of the "Blueprint". I guess I did not. So, I would re-present them in an abbreviated, bullet-pointed version (only about three). In the meantime, think about what your (own) agendas are, and share if you like. Ghost.

So don't you forget...who you are or where you stand in the struggle...I nah come to fight flesh and blood, but spiritual wickedness in high and low places. So while they fight you down, stand firm and give Jah thanks and praises...I nah expect to be justified by the laws of men. True, they found me guilty, truth (through Jah) shall prove my innocency." Ghost - Who Knows You All In For A BIG Surprise! Haters would not like this news; stay tuned....you will get to know who REALLY gets the respect among ALL the talkers here on WST. "God" is truly great, and the UNIVERSE does reward us when we are genuine in our love. Regardless of the self-appointed judges, juries and executioner(s) here on When Steel Talks. Hotep.

  • ... cause i thought - hoped - it would be similar to the old board where people had long meaty discussions about the music, theory, arranging, and all things relating to it --  arrangements, tunes, technique & mechanics of the instrument, along with the regular chat about different steelbands and orchestras, what they were up to currently, and pan history.

Unfortunately, over time, this new board seems to have become less of that and more about battling and bickering over pan politics.

    • Thanks for your response, Catt. Ghost.

    • Catt,
Not putting words in your mouth but I feel you should say the new board (members), Claude is honest in what he’s saying but I’m sure the older members like you who were part of the (MSN) board and its evolution can appreciate the value of what WST has continued to offer its members for free, they haven’t created a firewall like the NY times or restricted access to commentators. In this day of rapidly changing technology, I appreciate and value the easy access I get here on WST for my daily fix (information) on the Steelband movement, the bands, the history,  pan personalities local and worldwide, the discussions are entertaining and informative. Thanks WTS and Pan Times.

  • Ghost: My agenda is to make up numbers and keep the discussions going. Simple as that. Cecil always complains there are 10,000 members and SO FEW POSTERS. So I join the discussions to keep the page active. As you notice, I seldom ever initiate topics since I am not really of the STEEL BAND ILK. Nor do I have that emotional stake in PAN. And my views on the instrument are not PNMcentric or AFROcentric. Which pretty much makes up the greater body of the posters here.

However,I would like to hear some good modern music coming from the PAN and I am desperately waiting for some of the music graduates to COMPOSE one pleasurable piece of music that suits my taste. But I think I may die before that happens.

In summary,my agenda is to assist in keeping the discourse going while I wait for somebody to make some decent PAN MUSIC.
