Over 50 years ago Dr. Eric Williams told a small group of STEELBAND OFFICIALS:"politics is in everything, you breathe politics, you eat politics, and everybody should be involved in politics."

I know that Keith Diaz is involved in the politics (for his own benefit) but what about the THOUSANDS of PANMEN and their families and spheres of influence?

  • Keep PAN alive. I PAN in DANGER?
    • Is PAN in DANGER?
      • Pan is NOT in danger, its the ability to survive as a PAN MUSICIAN that's in danger. The discussion is about the role of the steelband movement in the election campaign.

  • Steelband    MOVE...ment. Oxymoron? They ain't goin' nowhere. Not even in politics.

    • Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) said that the hardest part of politics is finding jobs for the party supporters/workers who helped you win the election. • Pantrinbago is NOT a Union or better yet a Musician’s Union; the organization and its MEMBERS don’t have any CLOUT in the country's political process. Their elected leader may appear politically astute but there’s a difference between politics and politricks, The membership represents a cultural organization who's job is to ENTERTAIN the masses while begging for their supper. Some may call it modern day slavery, a new type of servitude.

Chalkie says Kasio and Pan is PNM salvation???
