Not a "competition". A "festival", but you can say "panorama".............whatever.
I hear that Patrick. This Panorama thing is getting played out . The same set of band dominating every year. Every band has their own unique sound . And that is something that no one can judge. I see the Codrington Pan Family passing on this one ! How come no one made a song call "No respect for the hard working Pan players ". Is the same thing ! Is the same thing ! Kaiso by so ! Ah lie !

Arthur Traverso , I used to play music in combos , a big band and steelbands , so I know music is a hustle.

I keep saying steelbands have to re-learn how to hustle especially at Carnival time , but nobody want to hear that.

They just want to sit around and wait on that panorama check.

And don't tell me it cannot be done , because we never gave it a real good try.

Glenroy: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! How are your knees? Hope they get bionic in 2017!!!

Merry Christmas everybody, you know I don't like to hang out here too often, but I have to point out how one of my predictions over the last few years is coming to pass. Anyone notice that bands are abandoning the so called 'pan tunes' for more mainstream, popular songs? This had to happen for the connection between the stage and the stands to be re-established once again. Special kudos to Zanda and Desperadoes for daring to break the mold last year. A very musically interesting panorama is shaping up!

Merry Christmas DJ

It is about time the bands embrace the popular music of the day.

bugs

We all know that only 2 band's will be trying to get in the panorama,Because the 8 band are already in.And the 8 band's everybody know will be in the panorama for the next, 25 years to 30 years,

And the 8 band's are.

All Stars.

Desperadoes,

Phase 11.

Renegades.

Silver Stars,

Invaders.

A band from Tobago,

A band from San Fernando.

David De, I don't think anything can be done about that because those bands are the best in the land, look at Supernovas today, they have to be added to the group..

Sir Cecil:

From what has been posted, the following four bands are all playing the same tune.

Harmonites, Phase II, Starlift, and Supernovas

Based solely on their tune of choice, which is, “+++++”,  it is evident that the winner of the Panorama competition of the unprecedented Panorama Festival in the mecca of steelpan under the final propitious circumstance of Pan Trinbago (as we currently know it) will come from one of the above-mentioned four………………….unless of course, anyone of them will change their mind (and their tune), in which case they will all have to contend with, and face, the Full Extreme embodiment of musical genius manifesting the highest degree of excellence.  LOL

Peter, the theme from the"silencers" is also ah favorite this year, may the best band win. lol

Cecil Hinkson yes they are the best band in T&T and they are the  band's that have the most money in T&T also.

So what will happen to band's that don't have that kind of money?

Who have the most money win panorama.

Who have the most money are able to pay the best arrangers, that's the nature of this beast.
