I saw that the President of PanTrinbago meet with the USSA and discussed the ICP International Conference of Panorama and the status of the World Governing Body.
I have not seen anything about what was said at the meeting in the FORUM so I am wondering if pan people in NY would like to share what went on?

If we want to do something for pan we must let the pres. know that he has done all that he can and the time has come for him to step down.
This is not the time to listen to what HE has to say, HE must now listen to what others have to say.
If pressure is not put on the Pres. to be accountable why should he be.
I believe all pan people should stand in solidarity with those steelbands in the Mecca who is fighting for their prize.
Their should be no interaction with anyone from PT until this problem is resolved.
They roll out the red carpet for the President in NY and steelbands in the Mecca begging for a prize they won last year.
He is treated with respect but he don't respect the very ones he is supposed to respect.
When one sees that he/she is one step, one class, one grade, one form above the rest, he/she sees an excellent opportunity to exploit the rest........................and the rest is history.
When pan people sees the importance of pan, through the business of pan, then and only then will they be pulled out of the quagmire that represents PAN.
You would think for an a event like the up coming ICP the World Governing Body for Pan would have its public relations people reach out to the local media in the countries they visit and share the information about this major event planned for 2015.
That's how you promote the art-form, your country and the business community. This is how you sell the pan product and get people to support you, call into your Caribbean radio stations, do interviews with the print and online media for example When Steel Talks, promote, promote at every opportunity you get.

I can't answer for USSA, I don't know if this was a formal event to discuss the ICP, according to Peter Blood article they were in Illinois to discuss the ICP, so I can't say if the gathering in NY was part of their official travel itinerary or something of a personal nature, may be that's the reason for the secrecy. I'm just guessing.
Don't know who's to blame for lack of information, we all saw the big fan-fare at the launch with the President and the Minister of Culture with the symbolism of the ICP flag and now no follow-up. The Public Relations on this major event leaves a lot to be desired.

I am of the opinion that the Pres. don't like to answer questions so he make sure that he could control the environment he is in.
This is why when you sign-up to accept the position of leader of an organization with the title of World Governing Body for Steelbands you understand what the job involves. Your job is to serve the membership and diplomatic skills are essential, the give and take comes with the territory. In the Mecca that type of behavior is acceptable, but on the world stage you have to demonstrate you have what it takes to call yourself a leader/president.
If you don't know you can lean the skills...it's called leadership training.
