WHEN STEEL TALKS: If you came to me and said that SOMEBODY offered you a 10% RETURN ON INVESTMENT on your MONEY -- what do I think, I would suggest that we take a VERY CLOSE LOOK at the INVESTMENT ...

... because in THE REAL WORLD a 10% ANNUAL RATE OF RETURN is very difficult to come by on a LEGAL INVESTMENT.

So when I see RUBADIRI VICTOR promising a 400% RATE OF RETURN over a FIVE MONTH PERIOD -- well, I CAN'T BUY THAT!!! Especially since it was on a PROJECT with ZERO TRACK RECORD.

And when I see all these TRINIS jumping up and emotionally celebrating this great idea -- I WILL have to sit on the sidelines and BE THE CRITIC I AM with my TRINI SCENARIO.

This is like DIAZ and FORTEAU with the INTERNATIONAL PANORAMA. I am sure that you all know what a FINANCIAL FIASCO that turned in to.

So THE PNM gives RUBADIRI $100,000,000 to produce this show and the first thing he does is STICK $10,000,000 into his pocket and then he goes into the project with the REMAINING $90,000,000. The whole project FAILS MISERABLY and he still gets some KICKBACKS from contracts to PRODUCTION COMPANIES further fattening his pocket and he is GOOD FOR LIFE.

There is no FILM or PAN or CALYPSO or MAS product that could come out of TRINIDAD and generate ONE MILLION DOLLARS much less the $400,000,000 that he is talking about.

It is kind of sad to see EVERYBODY jumping in and PRAISING THIS PROJECT to THE HIGHEST without any understanding of THE NUMBERS.

if you could go out into THE WORLD and promise a 400% ROI on a $100,000,000 investment (in 4 months) -- you will get a GLOBAL LOT OF INVESTORS but you are sure to end up like MIKE EPSTEIN or BERNIE MADOFF.

i would love to see TRINIDAD on the GLOBAL MAP with CULTURE -- but THE TALENT is NOT THERE ... whatever THEY BELIEVE!!!

3 million means more than 200% of Trinis live outside T&T. [Some other dumb TRINI said that there are 300,000, 000 TRINIS on the outside a portion of which might BUY THE SHOW!!!] The only island where you have more living outside their native island is Jamaica. I think that number is about 2 million Jamaicans living outside of Jamaica.

Keep in mind, I'm supportive of your concept, however, many of the numbers you are suggesting are over estimated.

One last thing, using our international recognize superstars would not attract more people. That's a Trini based myth. Their audience only interested in the genre they are currently doing. The way to go, is the grass root groups in the various territories who are involved in those 300 Trini style carnival you referenced. Those are the people who reach 2nd and 3rd generations, and those 2nd, and 3rd generations are the one to bring along their non West Indian friends and associates.

I thought that I WAS THE ONLY EXPAT IN THE WORLD with some GLOBAL UNDERSTANDING of the challenge to GLOBALIZE THE MUSIC and the LACK OF INFORMATION on the part of THE LOCALS when it comes to understanding the OUTSIDE MARKET -- which they really cannot understand without CONSULTING with EXPATS like ME and MR. ERIC A ST BERNARD!!!
