XO vs Beverly Ramsey Moore.

Dear Ms. Beverly Ramsey Moore, sense make before book, and common sense, as my deceased mother and tanty used to say, is not so common. I suspect that saying is also popular in Tobago, as both of Mammy's and Tanty's parents (my maternal grandparents) were Tobagonian. 1. Have you read the rules of panorama 2019 madam? Rules that would have been written, proofread, edited and published by you? 2. What other clause besides clause 6 (music) and/or 7 (adjudication) of the rules forbids XO from having its way, or permits you to have yours madam? 6. MUSIC: 6.1 Music Selection – For the purposes of the competition, each participating steelband may select and perform any Calypso/Soca or Chutney, providing that: a) the selection has not been played by said steelband at a previous Panorama Competition. 6.2 Failure to Comply with Music Selection - Any steelband which selects a tune for the competition that fails to comply with clause 6.1 hereof shall be disqualified from the competition. 7. ADJUDICATION: 7.1 Maximum Points for Adjudication – During each stage of the competition, every steelband shall be marked on the basis of a maximum of 100 points. 7.2 Adjudication Criteria – Each steelband shall be awarded points for the following categories:- (a) Arrangement – a maximum of 40 points shall be awarded under this category (b) General Performance - a maximum of 40 points shall be awarded under this category (c) Tone - a maximum of 10 points shall be awarded under this category (d) Rhythm - a maximum of 10 points shall be awarded under this category. Please stop wasting panmen's time, and most of all money that both you and The Chairman of the NCC continually says is scarce. Ms. Ramsey-Moore. If PANTRINBAGO does not favor arbitration in this matter, and pursues litigation, and loses as I suspect they will. then Beverley Ramsey Moore and her executive must tell the Steelband fraternity 1. How they were able to raise legal fees. 2. How much did legal fees cost. As in the first instance; - it may be irresponsible of PANTRINBAGO not to address such an issue in its competition rules, - and even more foolish of PANTRINBAGO to consider opposing any such move in the absence of any such wording in its rules . http://www.panonthenet.com/tnt/2019/rules.htm Yours respectfully, Russell Providence.

  • Exodus was only excersing their democratic rights, there is no law that say that they cannot change their tune,, it would have bee nice to see the ability of the arranger and the players, , this would have been a experience for the fans, very refreshening, , I ho pe exodus win, in court, , you mean if you running in a race and you shoe fall off you cant change your shoe,, com , let exodus change their tune, , nobody cant beat renegades anyway
    • Long ago when pan-men did not know better, changing a tune last minute worked, today this is known as cheating.

  • Come on Mark, are you really serious sir? Is that your contribution to this discussion? Who would you suggest this forum address on this issue, Winston "Gypsy" Peters, The Minister of Culture and the Arts, The Prime Minister, or the President of PanTrinbago who just happens to be a woman?
  • Where rules are silent, collusion takes over and dictatorship rules. Why are members of the 'Central Exec Comm' who have special interests in the competition, allowed to make/consider final decisions?

Where rules are silent, common sense should rule.

i wonder what the execs of the other bands think?

  • ... and when you consider that AINSWORTH MOHAMMED has the better POLITICAL CONNECTIONS which extend to the COURT ROOM -- then Beverley better stop wasting panmen's time, and most of all money.

Somebody should volunteer to write up a nice little humble press release for BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE announcing the reversal of her decision to evict SAVANNAH GRASS from the PANORAMA FINALS.

She could call a BIG PRESS CONFERENCE (plenty attention) and in her EMOTIONALLY LOADED VOICE (as usual) she could declare her love for PAN and COUNTRY above ALL ELSE. Choke up and bring some tears to her eyes and ting as she shows her LEADERSHIP CHARACTER doing what is BEST for PAN and PANORAMA and THE BRAND. Doing the right thing and bringing the focus back on PAN and PANORAMA and THE EXCELLENT MUSIC this year. Reminding everyone to buy tickets for the PANORAMA FINALS and promising to rewrite the rules with clarity to avoid any such conflicts in the future under her DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP.

Hell, Russell Providence could write up that while PRESS RELEASE in about 5 minutes!!!

Come on Beverley -- the odds are against you here. Not a good time to STAND YOUR GROUND!!!

    • Why are they all blaming Beverly, the president of Pan Trinbago...she’s only trying to do the right thing or is it because she’s a woman hmmmm, I’m beginning to believe the latter. Come on guys leave her alone.

  • I am not a lawyer, but as a devil's advocate, this is what jumps out from the pages of those self-same Panorama 2019 - Rules & Regulations.

    18.    INTERPRETATION:

18.1 Interpretation of Rules – These Rules shall be construed in accordance with the  Constitution of the organisation and the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

18.2 Where Rules are Silent – On any matter in relation to the competition in respect of which these Rules are  silent, the  Central Executive Committee  shall have the power to make decisions thereon and any decision of the Central Executive Committee made in those circumstances shall be final and binding on all parties.

Tante also say, speech is silver, but silence is golden and the pen (sign-off) is mightier than the sword, so we go see...

  • I must agree 100%
