The results of the various steelpan competitions organized by Pan Trinbago and its Regions on Carnival Monday have been released.
In the North, steelbands competed in the Region’s J’Ouvert Morning Bomb competition at Victoria Square, Port of Spain - the results of which are as follows:

Results have also been announced for the Groovy Soca Steelband Competitions which were held in all Pan Trinbago Regions on Carnival Monday night. The competition was open to all young arrangers under the age of 40. Bands were required to play any popular ninety (90) beat per minute groovy soca tune while on the move for approximately four to six minutes.
Regional judging points were as follows:-
East - in front First Citizens Bank, Hollis Avenue, Arima;
North - opposite Victoria Square, Park Street, Port of Spain;
South/Central - WACK 90.1fm, Carib Street, San Fernando;
Tobago - The Esplanade, Scarborough, Tobago.
The judges were Joanna Shortt and Sherry Ann Saunders.
In Tobago, the results were as follows:-
Results from the South/Central Region will be released as soon as they come to hand.

Congratulations to all the bands that participated. I couldn't help but notice that there were no Single Pan Bands in the Eastern Region. Why was this, since bands from the eastern region have dominated this category, producing the last ten champions.
