When the WIADCA official arrived at the Genisis Steel Orchestra pan yard -univited and unannounced- one would have thought they were there to ask Genesis members how can we help you to insure your participation and success -Instead they got the exact opposite.
Gensis is made of made of our communities best young people - scholars, educators, managers, hard working goal oriented young people from our community.
Pan is a beautiful thing - be the best that you can be.... Positivity, initiative, hard work, discipline, commitment, transferable skills.Hardest working youth people committed too a singular goal - "Be the very beat that you can be"...
Fundamentally f lauded... Disappoint. If the had the skill-set and personnel to run a steelband in Brooklyn, they would have been one of the greatest and most successful cultural organizations in the history of Black America.
Instead it failed miserably to invest in our communities youth.
