  • NICE YOUNG ,FUNKY AND FRESH , i'm from the old school and love it, come on guys lets give the youth some credit when it's richly deserved . Thiis young man is going to be a great force very soon , I hop some of the large bands are listening and someone will give him a break. Keep up the great work Mr White keep the flags of the youth flying !
  • Go AdLib...Kudos to you.
  • @Cathryn YES!!!! i AGREE...Listen and understand music people venture into the minds of what the arranger is trying to portray.....
  • @PanIsMehJumbie people are so quick to say a song is over arranged. if they took the time to actually analyze what they are listening to they would realize that this song does follow the structure of verse and chorus throughout ...then again you cant expect everyone to think the same way and have the same opnion. and @stats this song does carry you on a journey..if u listen its like a journey through battle. from the bombs in the very intro to the "CHARGE!" into the jam and the end, sounding the end of the battle..just think about it
  • Yo Meh Boy Big Up Yuhself! Yes he did follow the song. No he did not stray, Do you fools listen to music or do you jus skim thru it?? Some people are not open to new things new outlooks and new adventurous minds being what they are.. ADVENTUROUS!! I don't know whe dem talkin'bout pardnas I follow yuh an I hear you loud an clear.. Hmm Dre boy I wonder.. Why is it that when some names (you know, maybe some no longer with us or someone still here but a shadow of his former self for eg) do new and adventurous things it is a style that some might insist current and new arrangers should adapt into theirs.. but when you or another young arranger puts their own stamp on something people become afraid to enter your world.. to get to know your style and accept your thing.. i relate meh bredda.. leddem hul dey.. tail!! I hear yuh.. See u nex year
  • Its funnny - can anyone remember not so long ago when Adlib was ranking in the lower teens?????? this band has been earning its way up.......it has paid its dues - so has many other bands who's time will come in the future.
  • The tune was great, I do not have envy at all I just LOVE Meh Pan!! After listening to Adlib and Casym I would place Casym in 2nd position because of arrangement. I agree with Don Clarke on this one. Once again my fellow pan lovers it is all a matter of opinion. They were all great. For instance I like the sound of Pan Harmony, listen to them play. That was arranged sweet but they did not have the depth in sound to move up in rankings. Andre will only get better in time and with experience.
  • Very impressive, this Orchestra and its very creative and multifaceted arrangement kept me wondering what was going to come next, it was definitely the best I heard that night I enjoyed the musical story. Andre - I LOVE your arrangement - the charge into battle, the battle with pans making sound like bombs dropping and guns going off, Awesome !!! and the end of the song was short and precise and not stretched out - over arrangement I DONT THINK SO. Andre – you have a young brilliant mind that is encouraging young pannist who want to keep this culture very much alive and growing. I remember recently reading on this blog an article entitled “Is Pan dead” - with young minds and talent like yours its is definitely not dying. Congratulations Andre and Adlib! - cant wait for next year.
  • Mr. Makelt Plain: From your second comment I can see that you have your mind made up to the fact that for some reason I have "ENVY" in my heart towards Mr. White, Sir for your lack of knowledge of me, first of all
you don't know me nor what is in my heart. At 70 yrs of age "ENVY" is not in my blood, perhaps it is in yours from the way you are responding to my comment. When all is said and done I must respect to disagree with your observations but I won't stoop to your level to accuse you of being an **@!#*&** or what ever because
I don't really know you. For some reason some of us must turn our attention to name calling and show a down-
right hateful way of expressing our selves, by brother those days should long be gone from our minds. It
does not matter whether or not I think Ablib"s tune was over-arranged or not, the Judges words were final. Hope to chat with you again in 2011 if God spear our lives.
  • It's so funny to see some of these comments.Im kind of glad of the lil band from Long Island stirring up some trouble. It just goes to show that people are FINALLY paying attention. Last but not least, they work hard for any position they are placed and deserved it all!
