I was thoroughly impressed with this group and this arrangement. Much more complex and creative than anything I heard that night. Andre is a great, young brilliant mind and I will now follow him through his career. Congratulations Andre and Adlib!

People will always have their say at panorama and 95.7% they are right, Adlib should have not been place into second place, but the so call judges will always continue to place bands in top spots because of their names

I would like to thank everyone who has made their input to my observation. Every one has a right to their own
opinion. I have over the years listen to Mr. Andre White's music for quite sometime and I have to admit for his age he's very good, so was the great Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Clive Bradley, Jit Samaroo, Earl Rodney and many others who has left their mark in the musical world. There had to be a reason why Adlib was out scored by so many points by Sonatas. I try my best to be very objective in my views. When one
cannot follow a tune that makes some kind of sense of enjoyment to the ear, then what can I say. Miles
Davis music was not for the average music listener in jazz, his music was very abstract and noisy at times that's what I heard in Adlib arrangement this year. I do not claim to be a musical expert by no means, and
that is why so many arrangers have tried and tried but has always come up short most of the time. I taught
that Adlib had won last year's Panorama, but then again what do I know? am just a serious pan lover to the
art form.

Since the demise of Panorama legend Clive Bradley in 2005, the judges at the Panorama in New York has been bias to three steelbands- Adlib- Sonatas and Casym steel orch. Every Panorama those three steelband are juggled at the top three positions, its not fair to the other bands, case in point this year Panorama, Adlib Steel orch was not deserving of their second spot. The judges are creating an atmosphere of dishonesty, they are not judging fairly. They are carriyng the Panorama in the wrong direction, they are doing a disservice to young Andre White, by placing him without merit in the first three spots would make him feel that he is doing such a great job and stagnate is musical progress, even though they might like him they must mix their emotions with fairness, its very unfair to the other bands, they practice just as hard and long as the top three bands. I think that the judges should judge the bands music fairly, and not the arranger's name or band's popularity. Let fairness and good sense prevail in the New York Panorama.

This song was okay but all ova the place like how I look @ a panorama song is like a journey u goiin through a forest then like its always the bad part and then afta its a happy ever after but I didn't really think they shudda came in 2nd I think casym was well arranged and executed very well but if casym played around the same time as sonatas casym wudda won the panorama and I guarentee that.....

This is a truly great arrangement. I thought so on Saturday night, but after hearing it again
I am even more convinced. This is a well conceptualized, well integrated, and well executed
rendition of the original song. Congratulations Andre.

Hmmm....

Mr. Clarke,

I heard that same type of "interesting" opinion in the museum as well. You and they called it "over-arranging." So let's see - in 2008 when adlib first won, several people were furious because they found there was NO real arrangement. And two years later, some are finding Andre White over-arranged, like in your case, you could not hear or follow what the young arranger was doing.

Wow. What I hear is a lot of envy from some people, because this young man is not yet twenty and a half years old. And already he has won the New York panorama championship something even a few of Trinidad's arrangers around three times his age have tried and failed to do in NY. He has also managed to maintain the standard and the band has given the performances, that has allowed him to have that one championship and two consecutive second places all in three years, and all before he is twenty-one years old.

Tough.
