Lion wrote this song in support of women's struggle for gender equality during the early 1950's in Great Britain. Women were expected to return to the kitchen and serve their husbands when World War II was over. But they refused to return to this traditional role and instead thousands of women demonstrated all over GB and demanding equal rights. They had contributed to the war effort and had fought for freedom and democracy for all, women included.

Incredibly supportive! Imagine in the 1950's he paints a picture of women's success, much like it stands today.
