Everything Related to the Steelpan Instrument and Music

In the1980s we were in the midst of the cocaine epidemic , and the effects were being felt in Trinidad .

Beginning his career in 1983, singer / composer Errol "Bally" Ballantyne , a former customs official , has become one of the most respected proponents of the calypso art form, and in 1986 he sang what was probably the most powerful anti-drug calypso of that era.

Though not fully appreciated for its relevance and social impact , "Lucifer" took Bally to the Calypso monarch Finals at Dimanche Gras of that year's carnival.
.
From 1986 , here is Errol "Bally' Ballantyne and " Lucifer in powder Form".

And BTW , This was a Leston Paul arrangement.
One cannot over estimate the impact that arranger Leston Paul had on the calypso scene of that era.
Much respect , Mr. Paul !
