Some classical pieces seem to be ready made for the steelband, and as a result end up being interpreted by several steelbands in their classical format, or at the calypso tempo on the road. This suite from the French opera 'Carmen" is an example. It was also performed by Guinness Cavaliers at the 1966 Music festival. From the album "Pan Classics - Among the Best", here is Exodus Steel Orchestra and Georges Bizet's Carmen Suite No 1, Introduction to Act 1, conducted by Desmond Waithe.
