Hello Cary this is Malcolm from Barbados. We met about a year ago through keisha and the others playing on the corner Federick St. and Lara Promanade. The arrangement is awesome god bless.
Khari, we met at Ray Braithwaite's about 5 years ago, and I mentioned you and your family should come to the UK to show them what real steelpan playing, amongst young people, and indeed, just about everybody, should sound like!! Keisha was 8 at the time. Have the Codrington family been to the UK since then? Do let me know.
Correction: the song was arranged by Cary and Keisha Codrington and as a matter of fact, Keisha did most of the frontline music including solos and Cary did the background.
Kudos to the Codrington pan family and members.
It seems that "women is boss" in 2010 placing 2nd and 6th at Small Bands Panorama, 1st and a collaborated 2nd at Pan in the 21st Century, and first in Politics. (lol)
I have been following the successes of this family since, their star tenor pan player, daughter, Keisha, was winning all competition for this instrument since she was 8 years old-- about 5/6 years ago. Her personal accomplishments, and that of the whole of this extraordinary family, should be made known worldwide; although I do know that they have played globally for some time. They are, however, an integral part of the development of pan in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, and as such should be highly commended at all times, for the sheer joy, which they bring to their audiences. A truly remarkable family, with Mom playing the drums. Great stuff!
