One of the criticisms of modern panorama music is that it is more about the arranger and the arrangement than about the tune.
Ken "Professor" Philmore predicted this more than twenty years ago when he said that Panorama was becoming an "arranger-rama".
Part of the problem may be the decline in the quality of "pan ready" calypso tunes, more acute since the death of the great Lord Kitchener.
One of Bradleys' strengths was the way he managed to maintain the focus on the calypso tune throughout his arrangements.
The calypso stayed in your head and at any point you could hum a few bars of the tune.
Even in the most intricate parts of his arrangement, you could still hear the original tune coming through.
Of course one must also credit the source material.
One cannot credit Bradley and Desperadoes for this fine piece of music without acknowledging that this tune was a product of the musical genius of the late Grand Master of Calypso, The Lord Kitchener.
While he Rests In Peace, may his music live forever.
