Remember the original Gemini Brass, my music loving friends? They were a big time dance band that featured a brass section of three trumpets and two trombones, along with a full rhythm section and a vocalist.Led by guitarist Danny Ming, they pioneered a funky r&b influenced sound in the nineteen sixties that created quite an impact on music lovers and party people of the day. Here is their arrangement of Jackie Wilson's megahit "Higher and Higher", one of their earliest and biggest hits.

Glenroy, this is exceptionally wonderful. Thanks to you again for airing the music of Gemini Brass on WST. This band was led by Danny Ming back in the 60s/70s and had "tempo fuh so" I have been attempting to get the band's music to add to my library and I note that ia 2CD album entitled "The Best of Gemini Brass" could be ordered from h.antoine@securenet.net.
Funny enough, the night before this was posted, I was talking to my wife about this Higher and Higher version. It was one of my all-time brass songs. Sweet too bad!
