We saw in the flesh, Harry Belafonte, Dorothy Dandridge, James Mason, Joan Collins, Joan Fontaine,Steven Boyd, the street parade (rehearsed about 4 times), the political debate on the wharf, where the steelband played again. The sugar cane scene was filmed in BDOS..
Regarding Lord Flea & his calypsonians - Pretty Woman, those scenes were taken from the 20th Century Fox movie ISLAND IN THE SUN filmed in GRENADA in 1956. The Limbo Dancer was DOROTHY DANDRIDGE, the dance troup was ALISTER BAIN AND THE BEE WEE BALLET, the steelband was GASSPO. I was there in person. Do you know that was the only full steelband to appear in a Hollywood Movie ? (2 scenes).
