On the subject of calypso sub genres, the late , great Mighty Duke would have probably owned the one that can be called 'commess" or "bacchanal".

His humorous stories of human behavior , verbal "catfights" and in particular man/ woman affairs were classics.

Though bacchanal calypsos may have been his trademark , Kelvin Pope, better known as The Mighty Duke (1932 – January 14, 2009) was a versatile calypsonian, and one of the legendary greats, responsible for many memorable calypsos.

As a matter of fact , I believe that the Mighty Duke may have set a record by winning the calypso monarch title for four consecutive years. (1968–71).

This one , aptly called "Woman Bacchanal" is about one of those verbal catfights.

Kelvin Pope passed away six years ago on January 14th, 2009.

May he Rest in Peace
