Just for the record -- Mitch is playing only the second movement, Toccata, from my Concerto for Steelpan and Orchestra. By the way, Liam Teague's performance of the whole concerto with the Taiwan Orchestra is available on YouTube if you google it there.
Just a personal note -- It's interesting that Mitch had his recital at Alma College, the first place I interviewed for a job in music -- as a band conductor and theory teacher -- during the spring of my last year in the U. S. Army Band (1962-65). To put my best foot forward (and it really impressed the selection committee) I memorized the names of all the students in the band before I got there, thanks to the materials they sent to me ahead of time. But I decided that the climate of a job in Tampa was preferable to that of central Michigan!
Simply awesome. Pan is alive in the USA.
