Len "Boogsie" Sharpe's arrangement of Super Blue's "Birthday Party"(music by Boogsie) was beaten into second place by Jit's arrangement of Kitch's " Mystery Band".This performance by Phase II Pan Groove at Panorama Finals 1993 is one of my all time favorites. and I think the finals results is another of those judgment calls...

Here's wishing you good health, longevity, and a Happy Birthday Party.

  • Some of the most important people on this planet have birthdays in September, and of course that includes me. :)

So, for all us September birthday celebrants, here is my favorite musical birthday present, Len "Boogsie" Sharpe's arrangement of calypsonian Super Blue's "Birthday Party".

This electrifying performance by Phase II Pan Groove placed second in the 1993 Steelband Panorama competition.

  • WHAT A MUSICAL JOURNEY AND RUSH!!!BIG BIG TUNE!!!

  • On my list of my all time Panorama favorites.

  • Yes,one of the funky ones with bad basses.Wicked
  • "Roots Sound".Thanks again and also HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  • one of my favorite tunes as well, thanks and happy birthday!
  • This is one of my most favored  Panorama performances of them all, and I  think Boogsie excelled in this arrangement.

There is so much music here, and I love those rumbling, grumbling basses.

Since I cannot share a slice of birthday cake with everyone on this forum, I'd like to share this!
