When Steel Talks

Everything Related to the Steelpan Instrument and Music

This piece came from the streets of Trinidad at Carnival 1971, and was featured on a National geographic album.

This is a good example of the big time sound of steel-bands on the road in the 1970's, and I recognize Solo Harmonite's bomb tune of 1971, The Bond of Friendship.

Another selection being played is Lord Kitchener's "PP 99".

A sweet little taste of pan on the road on J'ouvert morning 1971.

Anyone recognizing the other bands, please share, we'd like to know .

This was a very special year (1971) as it was the last panorama and carnival I participated in before migrating to Canada..
