Tamboo Bamboo band recorded in Princes Town during the carnival 2007.The tamboo bamboo lies at the heart and soul of AfroTrinidadian music and rhythm. On one hand there is a direct historical link from the tamboo bamboo to the steelband, and on the other hand it speaks to our African roots. In other words, tamboo bamboo is the lynchpin the connects the steelband to Africa. Here is an example of the tamboo bamboo from Princes Town, Trinidad.Makes you feel to "do a ting", doesn't it?

Remember Tamboo Bamboo also came about because of the restrictions the Colonial Government placed on the Tambour African Drums when they banned.
