Due to the response to Clarence Curvan's music, I have no choice. but to post another of my favorites. Also from the "Body and Soul " album, Irvin Berlin's "They Say That Falling in Love is Wonderful".

  • Wow! This is soothing music. I remember Clarence Curvan. He played the drums in the Band. Has anyone converted from wax to CD?. This is music to keep for posterity.

This brings back wonderful memories. Excellent work WST!

  • I think it was 1962, or 1963. I started my band in the Revue Calypso Tent the following year.
  • Excellent arrangement, Ron. What year was this?
  • This was my arrangement, the only score I did before forming my orchestra. Those were wonderful days of my youth amongst young, and energetic supporters.
  • Though I did not mention all the misicians, Roy Cape also deserves special mention, as a successful bandleader and also for being the driving force behind much of Black Stalin's music through the years.

Not mentioning his name was an oversight when I put this thing together.

    Sorry about that.
  • Hello Glenroy

Thanks for putting some of my favourite bands from Trinidad on WST. Although, I was a member of the Trinidad Tripoli Steelband. I played on several recordings with the Joey Lewis Band, Lancelot Layne and Andre Tanker and I am feeling like I am Trinidad listening to these great band as I am living in Australia. • Thank you so much. The sweetness of Clarence Curvan and the sweet memories of those days are like honey to my soul. This reminds me of the Trinidad we once had, life was sweet and easy even though times were hard.

    Thank you Ron Berridge.
