  • Who can forget Scanty on the trumpet ! He was one of the better trumpeteers of that era. And Papa on the scratcher!

  • This actually the original Dutchys. The band had disbanded and most members had migrated when this was recorded. Pelhan Goddard was part of this group. One cannot speak of the Dutchys without mentioning Norbert ' "Scanty" Scanterbury o the trumpet. They owned a nightclub at the bottom of High Street, "Splendid" where on a Friday night, if you were lucky, you'd hear Old man Dutchy on his Tenor Sax.and see him do tricks with a cigarette in his  mouth while he played.Teddy Pinheiro
