Carnival “went well”
Gadsby-Dolly said she felt the festival was a success and congratulated the range of organisers, including the NCC.
In addition to a rich line-up of fringe activities, Gadsby-Dolly said she had noted a high turnout at most events, including Panorama and Calypso Fiesta.
Carnival Tuesday, when mas usually petered out by mid-afternoon, also went beyond seven o'clock that evening and was a result of increased participation, she said.
Gadsby-Dolly said the post-Carnival analysis has also begun and she expects financial data on the season that will in part inform the way forward for the festival.
Greater participation by Carnival bands was also noted, with bands crossing the stages at 7 p.m. on both days.
Post-Carnival analysis has also begun and is expected to continue over the course of the coming days to ensure improvements to Carnival's next staging in 2018, the minister added.
Asked about her announcement last month that Government would launch an audit into Pan Trinbago immediately after Carnival, Gadsby-Dolly said that action was on stream.
