I hate to break the news to the forum so early; but I did my INTERNAL POLLING and Keith Diaz is a HANDS DOWN easy winner of the elections. I mentioned in an earlier email this morning that MONEY IS THE MOTHER'S MILK OF POLITICS.
Well, Mr. Diaz, being the master politician that he is, also knows that. So I expect him to borrow THREE to FIVE MILLION DOLLARS and spread it around BUYING VOTES for the October 25th election. In the GIMME GIMME culture this election strategy leads to victory. Despite the high flying rationale of some members on this forum -- EAT AH FOOD (that has to be some kind of Grenadian expression that crossed over) is the order of the day in SWEET SWEET T&T!!!
When the PANORAMA money comes in he will repay the loan ... AND THE BEAT GOES ON.

The IT revolution has changed how we socialize and conduct business; there are pros and cons as to how we are using these smart devices and how vulnerable we have become due to how our private information is handled and the threats in cyber security. I’ve been in the industry long enough to witness from the back-end how data is manipulated and sold to the highest bidders. The benefits are far reaching in terms of quick access and efficiency. Administratively any organization or group can stay on top of their game by using the technology wisely.
This is the political scenario that I see surrounding this election. About a month ago – out of the blue -- you hear that the PAN TRINBAGO ELECTION is taking place on October 25th with the NV as PNG. Diaz immediately begins his campaign visiting panyards and doling out dollars and paint and pans and IOUs and money to send your grandmother to the doctor and your sister to the dentist. Anybody could walk in the office with a sad story right now and walk out with ah lil something. (The members of this forum have forgotten how much poverty still exists around the panyards and panmen.)
Meanwhile, the NV are sitting on their hands on the sidelines -- noses pressed against the window pane watching the DICTATOR operate.
Suddenly, two weeks before the election, a meeting is called and Diaz (surreptitiously) sends his lackeys to submit a motion to rescind the PNG and allow the NEW VISIONARIES to contest the elections. The NEW VISIONARIES are so happy (and politically NAÏVE) they bite the bait and instantly believe that democracy is alive and kicking in PAN TRINBAGO. Oh happy days: Free and Fair elections!!!
So they rush to WST to deliver the good news and they ramp up their two-week campaign to take power away from Keith Diaz. Anybody sees the imbalance? You still want to bet on the New Visionaries winning?
The way I see it this is nothing but intellectual POLITICAL ADVANTAGE.
And people get upset with me when I talk about what a great politician Diaz is. Man I want to go down to Trinidad and kiss that man ring!!! If Diaz ever decide to form a political party in Trinidad, I moving back and join that political party. We sure to win. Next thing you know I am the Trinidad Ambassador to California.
The only salvation for PAN after Diaz wins will depend on the NEW MINISTER OF CULTURE doing an audit on the PAN TRINBAGO books and cleaning house after that. The NEW VISIONARIES have a better chance of winning this election than that audit ever happening.
So we went around in a whole three-year circle of OLE TALK and end up with Diaz getting ready to serve another three years.

Technology will play a role in this election. Six years ago many of the older band leaders in TnT did not have a smart phone or access to the internet. Now, they all have a smart phone and know who Claude on WST is. The NV have to hit both the ground and cyberspace. Diaz afraid of the internet. Boogsie skyping and facebooking now you know. He just tell Phase II players to come get their International Panorama checques through facebook. Times are changing. Remember how Obama used the technology before the Republicans caught on?

Claude make sure you have two different versions for the next chapter. In the song 'Do Something For Pan' - Boogsie tells Diaz to leave town and take he "Photo" with him. Well it seems the "Photo" smarter than your boy Diaz. Secretary "Photo" is the one who knows where all the bodies are buried because he has been there so long. An now Diaz could be facing 10 to 20 years and the "Photo" gets to run unopposed? Brilliant!
Claude maybe you should rethink who the leading actor is. Remember Bush and Chaney. Does anyone believe Chaney was the supporting actor?

Bugs: I would love to believe that you are right. But if Diaz loses this election is STRAIGHT TO JAIL he going yuh know. So I just putting myself in his shoes and saying that I will DO ANYTHING to stay in power and stay out of jail and fly around the world on taxpayer dollars and build apartments and buy fancy cars and live like any HIGH FLYING CEO.
Now yuh sending me to write a whole new political scenario with all the delegates voting from home through their SKYPE and FACEBOOK and my central character ending up in prison for 10 years.
