Well, well well. what an interesting choice for Silver Stars.

bugs

Una pregunta grande?   what became of Edwin Pouchete I thought he was Silver Stars? congrats Tobitt.

@ Sweet Eustace,   Just read today in the TnT Guardian that Mr. Pouchet is have some health issues,

so he cannot work with Silver Stars this year.

Notice Bird Song with Andy Narell and Silver Stars with Liam Teague, very interesting this 2014, I wonder if Silver Stars will have that same speed as before, we shall see

Bede: I can guarantee that "that same speed as before" WILL NOT be there.

That speed in not Liam style, Interesting to hear Liam, Andy, and Ray.(music for your Sunday listening at home on your Stereo)

Salah Wilson have a sweet tune by the name of "Nothing sweeter than pan" allyo Arrangers listen carefully to that tune, beautiful Chord changes, it reminds me of Kitchener.

Bede: Yuh have real good listening skills, Mister. I have been ranting and  raving about what Salah did to this tune for the last 24 hours. By the way, it is not his tune; go check out the original on the 2014 song list.

But if a steelband in Trinidad gives Salah this song to arrange -- he could win panorama with it. Well, of course you need a good steelband.

He took out all the Kitchener and added the kind of nuance that I like in my music.

Thanks for letting me know that this is not the original, I found the original as you suggested I though the tune was composed by Salah, He did a very good job with it

More than a very good job. If he goes ahead and finishes it and then he runs it by me and you as a focus group -- he could have an International Instrumental Hit on his hands.

Two big supporters in Claude and Bede for my interpretation of Skippy`s "Nothing Sweeter Than Pan" ...thank you guys.  First  of all like you two I think that Skippy`s "Nothing Sweeter Than Pan" is simply a great song musically and lyrically. Because of my attraction to it I sat down on Christmas eve and in between that time and Jan 2nd. I completed a full seven and a half minutes arrangement of the song for like basically four voices (types of pans) Bass, guitar pan . second and lead.

However If I were to do this song for a bigger band ..I would add a couple more voices to accommodate Cellos and Quads and Four pans ...there is so much more that could be done

But again my many thanks to you both.

Salah

Hi Salah,

Happy New Year to you and your family. It sure would be nice to hear your arrangement of SKIPPY'S "Nothing Sweeter Than Pan" at the Pan Alive competition in Toronto. If I am not mistaken it will be the first time that a tune composed by a Canadian Calypsonian be played at this competition. It may open the door for other bands to follow the trend that you would have started.

                                                Hamilton "WEB" Alexander.                      .
