Personnel is Policy!!! And when you look at the list of candidates in line to replace KEITH DIAZ, it is clear that NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE in PAN TRINBAGO and the GOVERNMENT will continue to throw MILLIONS of DOLLARS into this bankrupt organization.
The one thing that TRINIDAD POLITICIANS seem to forget is that we are an INDEPENDENT COUNTRY and they (the politicians) have the power to make laws that BENEFIT THE NATION.
THE MINISTER OF CULTURE should be able to come up with a plan to DISSOLVE THE MADNESS in PAN TRINBAGO and restructure an ORGANIZATION that could attempt to birth a GOVERNING STEELBAND BODY in Trinidad and Tobago that is truly the WORLD GOVERNING BODY OF PAN not just in WORD, but in THOUGHT and DEED.

At a glance the slate of possible candidates for the leadership suggests that the executive of PT is no less that an oligarchy. Look at the length of time each has been associated with PT holding offices at the national and regional levels and their alliances over the years. But there's more!
So we sit and watch FORTEAU and JOSEPH steal another THIRTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS from PAN TRINBAGO over the NEXT NINE YEARS just because PAN TRINBAGO is a POLITICAL ARM OF THE PNM?
The Core of the problem lies in the Act of Parliament that gives Pan Trinbago the sole lawful right to represent almost all steelband activity. This Act takes away the freedom of organization of the people who are involved in Pan to choose and determine the organization that best represents their interests at any point in time.
Calling on the government to dissolve and or restructure PanTrinbago is a retrograde step. It is not the business nor the responsibility of any government to choose or determine who should represent any group of citizens, neither, what form the organization should take.
Without this pernicious Act, the Pan Movement could have formed one or more alternative organizations, that would, like trade unions, have to prove via membership and other qualifications their right of majority representation in order to win recognition.
Pan people should remember that it is the absence of this Act that allowed PanTrinbago to prove to members and the government, that it represented the majority and to replace The National Association when members became disaffected with its leadership.
Official government recognition might have been well-intentioned, but the manner in which it is administered has come to deny the Pan People their fundamental right of freedom of association.
Sir, a retrograde step is sitting on our Butts and doing absolutely nothing about the madness that take place every year at the house (home) of our national instrument. What utter HOPELESSNESS and a burden to taxpayers!

So all AQUIL ARRINDELL has to do is to run a STEALTH CAMPAIGN and convince (or bribe) 75 delegates from the PETITION LIST of signatures he spent the last year collecting and BAM he is the next PRESIDENT OF PAN TRINBAGO!!!
Aquils talents are best for training the young people of pan. He should leave all dem ole hard heads alone, dem aint going no where. All dem young people believe in him. Aquil, hear meh, build a new Pan Trinbago with all dem young people around. Give pan some HOPE. WORDS OF WISDOM.
