You don't have to restrict your choice to TRINIDAD -- THE PLAYER could be from NEW YORK or LONDON or EUROPE or CANADA. But you have to remember that PLAYING THE PAN is only like 50% of the JOB REQUIREMENT. THE PLAYER has to bring a whole BUNDLE OF CHARACTERISTICS to stay on the circuit and keep getting CALL BACKS and REFERRALS..

Duvone is already doing the job, he meets every criteria YOU set, and I don't see anyone surpassing him in the near future. Now Keisha is young, she already has the skills to play but could benefit from training in other.areas .

Earl Richards: This is THE MAN that they are LOOKING TO REPLACE. So read the link below VERY SLOWLY and VERY CAREFULLY and come to realize the MOUNTAIN they have to climb -- the shoes they have to fill.
So make sure you pick somebody who could cover all these MUSICAL BASES. And don't forget -- that the MUSICAL SIDE of the PERFORMER is only half of the PERSONA that is required to DO THIS GLOBAL PAN AMBASSADOR JOB.

Now, if I had to pick somebody FROM TRINIDAD -- I would RELUCTANTLY pick JOHANN CHUCKAREE. But I will have to put him through a FIVE YEAR TRAINING PROGRAM and as SELF-CONFIDENT (and arrogant) as he is in his PAN SKILLS I don't think that he would want to submit to my program. As much as he plays that PAN he has ZERO FEEL for the CALYPSO. (His sister, on the other hand, feels and expresses the SOUL of the CALYPSO -- to a great extent ... given this and that ... long story).
But that GLOBAL AMBASSADOR PAN JOB that ANDY does calls for a LEVEL OF AMBITION and COMMITMENT (it is really a LIFETIME COMMITMENT as ANDY has demonstrated) that neither of your two candidates can bring to the GLOBAL DEMANDS.
JOHANN fits about 40% of my BILL and if he is COACHABLE -- I can have him ready for the POSITION in 5 YEARS.
