Caribbean New Media Group (CNMG) wishes to offer an explanation to Trinidad and Tobago and to the many thousands abroad who have been searching, in vain, for our internet stream of today's Carnival 2013 mas parade.
CNMG has been debarred by Mr. David Lopez, President of the National Carnival Bands Association, from streaming the Parade of the Bands from the Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain.
Today, we engaged in further dialogue on the subject, through Ms. Allison Demas, Chair of National Carnival Commission (NCC).
Ms. Demas said she regretted the situation but was powerless to reverse Mr. Lopez' decision.
CNMG has been subjected to negative comments from people who visited our website hoping to enjoy our typically high-quality coverage of the mas parade.
We apologise to everyone for this most unfortunate situation.
CNMG remains committed to coverage of the national festival, as evidenced by the fact that we are the only broadcast media in Trinidad and Tobago that provided extensive and quality coverage of all aspects of Carnival 2013.
