On her WST bio she writes:
I am a pan arranger and bass player ....have arranged for Ebony (London UK) and Invaders (Trrinidad & Tobago). Today, I remain a patron of Ebony Steelband Trust. I have written, composed, directed and produced a very successful Caribbean musical called Carnival Messiah. This show has been produced 3 times in the UK and twice in T&T. I am presently musical supervisor of the New World Symphony Steel Orchestra in Leeds, Yorkshire. Dudley Nesbitt is our Musical Director and Arthur France is our Chairman.

  • It is, indeed, sad to hear of Dr. Connor’s passing.  I first met her at the 2004 Calypso Conference in Brooklyn, NY and got to know her a bit better immediately before and during the conference the following year in Leeds.  She was a person of great charm and enthusiasm, and an extraordinary talent whose contributions will be sorely missed.

  • Condolences from the members and supporters of Caribbean Airlines Invaders. May her soul rest in peace.
  • I was lucky enough to play under this wonderful lady.

Thank you for your contribution, you will be missed..

  • What sad news of a vibrant soul, a dear friend, and an inspiration to everyone with whom she touched.

    I will miss you sister!

    Let your light perpetually shine!

  • I wish to express my condolence to the Connor's family on their lost, may she rest in peace, Amen
  • USSA extends condolences to the family of Dr. Conner. May she rest in peace.( Just a little observation, this month of October has certainly seen a number of Great Women moving to the next life. ) GOD BLESS THEM ALL!
  • I recently communicated with Dr Connor expressing the respect I had for her father, the famed actor and entertainer Edric Connor, the first Trinidadian I ever saw on the silver screen.

(Among others films, he appeared in "Moby Dick" with Gregory Peck and "The Vikings" with Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis).

Like her father, Dr Connor was a Trini icon and an immense contributor to the culture of Trinidad and Tobago, and indeed to the world.

Condolences to her family and loved ones. Dr Connor will be missed.

    R.I.P. Dr Geraldine Connor.

    • My condolences to the Connor family.

Great information Glenroy.  I never knew this.  I found a picture of Edric Connor on the internet. I think it is from Moby Dick.images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTs740yeD40I4Bm7CyhtuhHbOtuk5N6lDCeMJKLlAHCkySZa8Ro

      • Nice picture, Bugs . If you ever saw that classic movie "Moby Dick", you'd never forget his booming voice as he led the chant of the sailors rowing the harpoon boat to meet Moby Dick and their doom.

"Hill and gully rider, hill and gully

Hill and gully rider, hill and gully"

At a time when there were few blacki faces in the movies, he stood out.

Dr Connor had some great artistic genes.

        • He was also in "Fire down below" with Rita Hayworth, Robert Mitchum and Jack Lemmon. Albert Broccoli was one of the producers, and went on to do Dr. No, Thunderball and etc.

He played the Jimmie Jean role. It was a subservient role (this was 1957!), but he brought great dignity to it.
