Earl: When I am looking at a PAN SHOW like this (especially with MAKESHIFT HOME STUDIOS) I am placing 40% of my appreciation on TONAL QUALITY. I want to hear THE INSTRUMENT -- LOUD and CLEAR riding above the ACCOMPANIMENT and I want CLEAN, CLEAR, CRISP, ACCURATE PAN TONES with GOOD DECAY.
I think that TONAL QUALITY should be between 10 and 15 POINTS -- what do you think, MR. EARL RICHARDS?
Replies
Claude!!! This is my take on the above post. In a normal Panorama competition the points system are (1) Arrangements 40 pts, (2) General performance 40pts, and (3) Tone 10pts (blending of pans 5 pts, rich quality of sound 5 pts). But in the rules of the International Pan Ramajay under Performance, Tonal Quality, (the Musician's ability to perform on the instrument with sensitivity), and Nuances (the Musician's ability to express the subtle changes in the music. I did not see any mention of Blending/Tone/Color/Rich sound of the Pans.
"RICH QUALITY OF SOUND!!!"
Yes, EARL!!! Now yuh talking my language!!!
that Nuances one,
I can immediately digest it.
is it something that is measurable?
and is it weighed correctly in this criteria?
why not Nuances 5 and tone 10?
someone help me here.
MR. AQUIL ARRINDELL: I fully understand THE NUANCE THING -- but as you realize, I am HIGHLY SUPPORTIVE of THIS EVENT since BEVERLEY AND PAN TRINBAGO eh DOING NOTHING. So I don't want to get too IN DEPTH into YOUR ISSUE.
But I got YOUR POINT!!!
MR. CLAUDE, I tired tell you LEAVE MEH PRESIDENT ALONE!
This is about THE BEST CLARITY that I can find on THE INTERNET and I will give it about a 75% RATING!!!
