  • Does anyone know if all 8 bands will appear on each of the nights or are they split into 4 each?

  • Best Pan show, ever!

  • But when Sweden and China comes up with the idea to standardize pan and head to the finish line with future production, what would T&T logical explanation be?

    • T&T would say, "We wasn't in no hurry to Standardize Pan so we did not do it".

  • Pans Should Be Standardized I totally Agree. The Problem with the Standardization of Pan is very Complex. There are Different Styles of Pan, unlike The Piano, Trumpet, Saxophone and other Musical Instruments. Who is to Say what Style should be Standardized? Pan has been Patented by the T&T Government but no Special Style was Patented. Tuners are very selfish and would want Their Style to be the one used. Pantrinbago and the a Government should reach a Compromise on which Style should be Used. Tuners are in their comfort Zone with the Pans they tune. It will take Some Time for Pans to be Standardised. It's Long Over due.
    • You can standardize pans for mass production, and it will be done at some point . But within that standardization you can also have different brand names and 'bespoke' pans'. 'Bespoke pans',specially made for groups or individuals. is basically what we have now, with standardization and mass production those should become the high end instruments.

This is a case where you can have your cake and eat it.

      • Lillian Sten if you standardize pans and have a "bespoke" pan you did not standardize it, just my opinion. The purpose of standardization is so that we have one set of pans.

    • They should Standardize Pan on the style that is used most, If a certain style is selected the Tuners will start tuning to those styles plus his own style, and more than likely he will go where the Money is, the Standardized style.

  • About time!  Maybe this is a wake up call for all Pan Players to transition into finally recognizing the Steel Pan as another musical instrument which, amongst other things, requires reading and writing music.  Imagine being able to call upon any Pannist, from any band, to perform anywhere in the world, without extensive rehearsals, since they'll have their music sheets.

    • It would be great also if Pan was Standardized so the Players from all over the World don't need to transport their instruments.
