Many WST members, fail to understand how the mechanisms of "institutional racism" operate. We already see the "No Pan In The Classroom" issue taking "center stage". I wanted to share with you a more close-up view of how this form (of racism and race discrimination), works on the academic level, and it is convenient that, the institution I decided to highlight, is also involved in the arts. You would note their concentrated efforts toward East Indian history and culture. Also not, when referring to them selves, their "Grandmotherland" (to quote Queen Kamla) and their "race" are referenced, however, when referring to African descendants, their is NO connection to their past, prior to "slavery" and them becoming "shouters". There is NO reference to their history and culture, pre-Chattel Slavery. I present to you ALL, a look at the UNIVERSITY OF TRINIDAD & TOBAGO (UTT)...

Note: The skewered amount of events, when comparing "T&T Indians" with their "T&T African" counterparts, and the use of the words "Indian" and "East Indian", as opposed to "Slavery", "Shouter", "Afro-Trinidadian", etc., when referring to the two major ethnic groups.
Note the Post-Graduate Research Areas at UTT:

Again, 100% "Indian" and 0% "African". Yet, Dr. Liverpool, as "Chalkdust", claimed that "young people colour crazy...some want to know more 'bout India, some want to go back Africa." Life has a funny sense of humor; that he would eventually become a head lecturer of an academic institution that heavily focuses on knowing "more 'bout India". At least he convinced the "crazy, young people" from Africa. (Not that they wanted to "go back"; they simply wanted to hold on to their heritage, like "T&T Indians" have done. On EVERY level!!!)
