International support spurs global interest and oversight of carnival panists’ mistreatment
Global - With little more than a few weeks before the largest and most popular steelband music competition in the oil-rich country of Trinidad and Tobago, the local panists have received a major boost with the support of the international steelpan music community. Largely through the availability of the internet, Trinidad and Tobago steelpan musicians have been able to communicate their grievances to the global community for support.

Com'on people.....get with the action!!! Sign de damn Petition!!!!!! Stop talking de talk.....WALK DE WALK!!!
Put yuh money where yuh mout' is.....SIGN THE PETITION!!!
A unified support from the world's Pan community with the local community of T&T will make the government of T&T ...STOP...and take another look at this bad policy towards the funding of the Panorama initiated by the Arts & Culture Minister for 2011. ..The T&T government has a lot more to loose than the $200.TT ($34US) that will be taken away from the 10,000 local pan players. Public Relations and the world's perception of this degradation of this particular art form called the Steelpan ( the National Instrument of the country) is what is at stake.....We call on this Government to reverse this bad policy and increase the stipend rather than decrease it......the local pan community is mobilizing as the Petition is moving through the bands with enthusiasm.....we now call on the rest of the world community you WST members to join in and be a part of this Global History for Pan.. You dare not say that you support Pan and stay on the sidelines you are either in the Band of steelpan players and lovers of Pan or the Band of gypsies....choose the right band to play in because History is recording your choice in 2011......go to the following PETITION AND SIGN UP AND BE COUNTED
