Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - ....Philmore was badly injured in an accident along the Solomon Hochoy Highway on Monday and was warded at the San Fernando General Hospital in a serious condition.
He died at hospital just after 9 a.m. today.
Philmore was one of the most talented panists in T&T.
He was the third of five children and got his early introduction into pan through his cousins Ferdi and Barry Brathwaite. He first played with Hatters.
Later, he moved to Kalomo Kings in 1977 and then to Gay Hoytonians before he finally settled with Fonclaire Steel Orchestra in 1981.
My condolences to the family an friends of Prof. Philmore. May he Rest in Peace in that corner of PAN HEAVEN.

Very sad news!!! I expected better from the LOCAL DOCTORS. Condolences to the family, especially his wife!!!
Claude, I'm sure the LOCAL DOCTORS did their best for the brother. Understanding from reports that the car flipped about 6/7 times. Probably was not strapped in, hence serious internal injuries. Met him in NY a few years ago(HARMONY) we talked for a while, as if he knew me, great personality. May he rest in Peace.
