In a carefully worded post, Leon "Foster" Thomas the 2012 arranger of Crossfire Steel Orchestra announced that he has resigned from the position of arranger and musical direction. Under the musical direction of Thomas Crossfire placed second in this year's New York Panorama.

Very well said Angela It's like I want the World to know that I resign from Crossfire and I'm available. He did not mention the reason for leaving a Band that he just lead to second place in the 2012 NYC panorama. If he cannot give a reason for his actions then I think he is looking for more money or is trying to destroy Crossfire. I hope other bands take note and stay away from him because he wiil destroy them also. New York Beware of Foster.
I don't think he is trying to destroy Crossfire, I think he is disclosing his credentials to the highest bidder for next year panorama, I see nothing wrong in that, the bottom line is money, he wants pocket full of money not FOB money (and he is worth it)

In the interest of full disclosure, I play for Radoes, and my views do not reflect the views of Radoes but, here goes: How is this our business? It seems to me that, in so public a resignation, Mr. Foster wants the court of pan-public opinion to weigh in on his decision to leave Crossfire after a successful showing in the Panorama. If he is unhappy there, why not just privately resign? Surely the other bands who are looking for an arranger will find out one way or another. I find no fault with WST for publishing this "news", I just don't understand our need to (let's face it) gossip about it in a public forum. At its worst, this could be construed as an attempt to draw attention to the fact that Foster is now available. At best, it is a childish display. At any rate, maybe the next band is to now beware that it's decisions and affairs are subject to very public scrutiny. Good luck with that. Angela Howard
Quite Honestly I thought Crossfire had it this year. The arrangement had all the parts. The Bass wasnt just your standard 2 note dum dum that every band does. The Cello and Guitars complimented each other like the rt hand and left hand of the piano, and had what musicians called licks as links to the chord changes. The Dbl Seconds had effectivce harmony and harmonic runs, They beginning KEY was perfect to establish the melodic line and the band was not NOISY. I was very impressed. I agree with you Paddy. I thought Crossfire was the best band at the NY panorama this year. The bad sound system really hurt them. I hope another band picks up Leon I too was very impressed with him.
