Nathanael "Crix" Flemming who has been spending his annual summer vacation in New York for the past 6 years, was denied a visitors visa in August of 2013 at the US Embassy in Trinidad & Tobago. Mr. Flemming's documents which included his Bank Statement and a letter from his school, The University of Trinidad & Tobago were no match against The Powers That Be.

Mr. Flemming's maternal grand parents are US citizens, so he was categorized as a "HIGH RISK."  He asked ,why he was not a High Risk the previous years, they answered by giving him some papers to take and read on his time. Mr. Flemming is a junior member of Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, and is associated with Despers USA and D'Radoes Steel Orchestras in Brooklyn N.Y  He arranged the Shadow's tune "Dingolay" for Desperadoes at the Laventille Back Road Pan Festival this August.

America has the right to grant or refuse any applicant admission, and Mr. Flemming is no different from all the other good applicants that have been turned away. But there should be some kind of review for the turned down applicants who are lawyers, Doctors, and just good outstanding citizen's of T&T.

  • I Have played With Crix In Radoes For The Past Few Years Personally I Don't Think It's Any Of Your Dam Business Discussing His Business Like This.

    • Mr. Wayne Borde you could have been a man and state my name. Did Mr. Flemming tell you that this was not approved by him? You should have asked first, never assume, always know the facts first.                                     I have shown more respect for Mr. Nathanael Flemming than you, by referring to him by his given names at birth.

I am truly sorry if you did not see the bigger picture, for the writers of the prior comments did.

Also the name of the Steel Orchestra is D'Radoes,                                                                                       Let's prove john public wrong; they are always saying, we panmen are our worst enemies.

      • I Don't Think For One Minute That Crix And That's What We Refer To Him Would Approve, However If He Did I Would Be A big Man And Say I Apologize But That Will Have To Wait Until I ask Him Myself.

        • Fair enough and good luck to "Radoes' lol.  Say hello to my in law, Man.

I was born a Desperado. Love, Peace and Pan

  • Well said Wayne Cesair.....we are a pack of hypocrites and our leaders are puppets.  We need to see about our own, and treat each other right....so we could be a force to contend with....hopefully one day.

  • Don't know why we in the Caribbean are so enarmoured with the US. I don't even want to touch down there en route to anywhere else. It's high time we realize that we mean nothing to them (no one else in the world means anything to them) and start spending our valuable time, money and resources elsewhere.

There are many other places to visit and spend our money and individuals and our governments should finally realize that.

The real reason we have all the crime we have now is because the US has since 2000 been sending hardened criminals and gang leaders down here to start up gangs etc.

All the talk about combating drugs and drug runners is only a ploy to protect their own growers.

While they were busy eradicating drugs in St Vincent etc they were developing and growing the most potent marijuana right there in the US.

They are a bunch of hypocrites using every ruse to perpetuate their own hegemony including starting wars, spying on the rest of the world and suppressing development in the rest of the world under the guise of supporting democracy while raping the world for their own good.

Mr Flemming should now realize that it's a blessing in disguise that he was refused entry. Now he can go visit China or somewhere else where he would be welcome and appreciated.

  • So unfortunate for Crix. It works for the US to keep us on the backburner while Americans have free reign over Caribbean nations. Seems like it is irrational to be a West Indian national in the face of the escalated hypocrisies of the capitalistic imperialists whose only concern is with the perpetuation of the American dream...certainly not with us and it is high time one realizes that.
